Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition
For ensembles of 4 trombonists or more (with rhythm section)
First Prize - Featured performance at the 2012 International Trombone Festival in Paris, France.
General Rules and Requirements
- The 2012 ITA Competitions General Rules and Requirements must be strictly followed to avoid disqualification.
Additional Rules
- All improvised solos must be performed by regular members of the ensemble—no guest soloists.
- No guest soloists are allowed.
- No age requirement or school affiliation required.
- Winning ensemble must utilize only the players who made the sound file recording in their ITF appearance - no additional players or substitutions allowed without the approval of the ITA Competitions Committee.
- If the winner is unable to appear at the ITF to perform, the ensemble will be disqualified and the Runner-Up will be named the winner, provided that it is able to appear at the ITF.
- Winning conductor has total control over the content of their ITF performance.
- Members of the 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011 Winding Competition winners are not eligible in the 2012 Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition.
- Each sound file must be labeled as follows: KW_Composer_Your ITA ID. No.
Example: KW_Carmichael_1234 (Always use underscore _ instead of space)
